The Cobras won their 2nd game in a row with a 10-3 victory over the Hopkins Berries on Tuesday night. Attendance was low (6) as an unexpected rain storm turned the day from 70 and sunny to 55 and depressing. The Cobras banged out 13 hits, took advantage of some misplays by the Berries, and had some quality pitching, leading them to victory.
J.E. Urseth and FNG Ben Cejka combined to limit the Berries to 6 hits on the night. Urseth's 70mph fastball was the perfect setup for Cejka's mid 80's fastball. The Berries doors are somewhere near Minnetonka Blvd.
Offensively The Cobras were lead by Gabe MacDonald, Sean Borman, Greg Larpenter and Matt Youngquist. Honestly, everyone hit some baseballs hard. If Tyler Adams ever pulled a ball he would hit 20 HRs in a season, but he is too much of a team player. Adams wall scraped twice in the game on opposite field smashes. MacDonald stayed hot with a pair of RBI and Sean Borman got his smile back after returning from former Cobra Pat DeLaHunt's wedding in Cancun. Borman and Larpenter had a pair of doubles a piece.
In the parking lot the Cobras drank Arnold Palmers (some John Daly's) provided by Ryan Sele. Matt Youngquist took the lead for most court fines by telling Sele he needed to find a new catch partner pregame and running off the field when he was called safe. The Cobras have a 4 game "Phone Rang Loud In The Dugout" streak.
The Cobras next game is Thursday against the Forest Lake Brewers. Game time is 7:30pm in Forest Lake.
