The Cobras were rained out of two games, won one and lost one in the last week.
Games with Lyon's Pub and the Metro Merchants were rained out as Noah, his Ark and 2 of each animal prevented us from playing. The Cobras stayed pumped during the week off by taking dry swings in their garage and listening to Lamb of God.
After the break, the Cobras won a non-league contest against the Coon Rapids Redbirds. J.E. Urseth and Brandon Budnick threw a gem. The game was close until the Birds went pear-shaped in the 7th. Mike Lenertz went 4-5 with 3 seizure singles. There was a massive moat around the field due to the recent rain. Matt Youngquist's dog Sally was the ball fetcher and also game MVP. Final score was 10-3.
The next day would go the opposite way for the Snakes as they dropped their first league contest against the Minneapolis Angels by a score of 3-1. Pitching was on display all day as FNG Ben Cekja and Zach Munsterman would combine for a pretty good game. The game would be decided on a reversed call by the home plate umpire, allowing a run to score instead of the 3rd out being made. Matty G needed some blood pressure medication, some SOMAs, and other medicinal substances to calm down. It was hot garbage. Other than that...the game was well played by both teams and we look forward to the next matchup.
The Cobras next game is Thursday Night at Parade against the Minneapolis River Rats. 8:30pm is the game time.
